Taken by a broken escalator, Line Four at Les Halles, on 30th of March. The sign assures passengers that the escalator will be fixed the 30th of April. That's right, kids, work those buttocks.
Right. One month is optimistic... if Paris is like New York, they'll just keep painting over the estimated date of reinstallation and writing in a date a year ahead... this has been the modus operandi at the West 4th stop by NYU since I moved here three years ago.
Don't blame the 35 hour work week! They spend their childhoods learning Greek and Kant-- it's only fair.
As the late comic Mitch Hedberg used to say: "An escalator can never break: it can only become stairs. You would never see an 'Escalator Temporarily Out Of Order' sign, just 'Escalator Temporarily Stairs. Sorry for the convenience.'"
